Introduction Easy Subtitles Synchronizer (ESS) is a freeware tool that creates repairs and synchronizes your subtitles easily. It is designed for people without background to subtitles creation and synchronization. For this reason provides only the necessary tools for subtitles creation and synchronization that a common user needs.

Installation - Prerequisites

To install Easy Subtitles Synchronizer (ESS) run the EasySubtitlesSynchronizer.msi.

ESS requires the Microsoft .NET 3.5 and at least one of the video players: VLC (1.1.x) plug-in or Windows Media Player.

If the .NET is not installed to your pc, the installation of ESS will open your internet browser in order to guide you how to download and install it.

If you want to use the Windows Media Player as video viewer you have to download and install video codecs (For example visit codecs.com and download K-Lite Codec Pack ).

If you want to use the VLC as video viewer you have to download it from videolan.org (during the installation of ESS will open your internet browser in order to guide you how to download and install it).

Important note: At VLC installation you must select the option “ActiveX plugin”:

If you have already the VLC (1.1.x) installed in you pc without the Active X plug-in, you have to reinstall it.

For Vista and Windows 7 users:

If you want to change the default video player of Easy Subtitles Synchronizer (ESS) from VLC to Windows Media Player and vice-versa, please read the instructions in the file UseOfVPS.pdf.

Download Easy Subtitles Synchronizer

Easy Subtitles Synchronizer is a free software. You can use it on any computer, and you don't need to pay for it or to subscribe yourself anywhere.

ESS is intended for users who possess legitimate subtitle files and / or those who wish to create subtitle files for digital media that is owned legally and only for private use. In any case, the authors of the ESS are not responsible for any unlawful use of this tool. ESS is not responsible for subtitles that have been downloaded from internet through any channel.

Download Subtitles from opensubtitles.org

ESS provides new functionality, allowing you to download subtitles from opensubtitles.org

Settings

At first you must set the languages for the downloaded subtitles from opensubtitles.org. From the Main Menu go to Settings>Subtitles Settings and on Settings form select the languages you prefer.

If you have already registered to opensubtitles.org you may set your username and password.

The ESS searches for subtitles by movie and/or by moviehash. The results by moviehash usually fit better to your movie.

Search and Download

1. Load a video file to ESS
2. Open the Download tool
3. Write the title of your video. Do not include extra characters like .,-_ .
The year of the movie is not necessary although is useful.

4. Press the Search button
5. After a few seconds the application will return the results’ list. Select a subtitle; right click on it and press “Download Subtitles”.

6. The subtitles will be downloaded from opensubtitles.org and will be loaded to ESS.
7. Play your movie to check the subtitles. If they do not fit to your movie, try to synchronize them (using Adjust or Manual Synch), or download a new one from the results’ list.
8. If the subtitles fit to your movie, repair (Ctrl+R) and finally save them (Ctrl+S)

Initially downloaded subtitles are not saved, until you choose to save them, avoiding useless files to be saved to your hard disk.

Note: ESS is not responsible for subtitles that have been downloaded from internet through any channel.
